Sector Space Free websites and web hosting for charities and non profits

Our Goals

Sector Space.org is located in Cardiff, Wales in the UK.

Sector Space Mission

The mission of sectorspace.org is to serve as a catalyst for positive social change by leveraging modern technologies and best business practices. Sectorspace.org offers free ICT and consulting services to voluntary groups, charities and other third sector organisations.

Sector Space Goals

Our goal is to offer free services to charities, voluntary organisations and other third sector groups wherever there is a need. Unlike other websites that merely serve as a platform, we are actively involved in every group project. Our project managers make sure that requests are met and projects are completed successfully. Our goals are:

  • Provide a service, not a platform.

    Our job is twofold:

    1.  Provide Resources: We provide resources to groups, volunteers and partners. We give our volunteers the support and resources they need to complete projects succesfully. We make sure that our groups have access to resources that would normally be prohibitivly expensive. We cultivate our business partnerships and manage requests to ensure that our partners are not overwhelmed and are able to offer services in line with their own CSR guidelines.
    2.  Manage Projects: We manage every project our groups request. Our relationship begins as soon as an application for one of our services is submitted. We work with the group to produce project initiation and planning documents. Then we work with the project team (which consists of the group representative(s), volunteers and partners) to ensure the project is a success.
  • Build knowledge, foster imagination

“…while knowledge defines all we currently know and understand, imagination points to all we might yet discover and create.” Albert Einstein knew that solving hard problems required imagination, informed by knowledge. We recruit the best people to serve our groups. We invest significant resources in building their knowledge; and we make sure they have the freedom to apply it in imaginative and innovative ways.

  • Build teams

The best way to get a good answer is to get a lot of answers. We bring team members with a broad range of experience - and opinions - to the table. We don’t compete with one another. We collaborate.

Sector Space Principles

We meet our goals using the following core principles:

  1. Empowerment. People and organisations should be able to acquire the knowledge, skills and confidence necessary to overcome the barriers presented by ICT.
  2. Fairness. Effective programmes should be introduced to tackle the information and resources gap that affects too many  groups in the sector, particularly groups with lower than average voluntary income.
  3. Sustainability. Programmes should be secure and sustainable. Advice we give to clients should be given with a view towards ensuring their security and sustainability.
  4. Independence. Services and advice are given without allegiance to any one business partner or volunteer. We will provide the best possible solution to our client's needs  - even if that advice is not in our best interest.
  5. Partnership. We strive to collaberate with the private sector in order to build our pool of resources and provide the best solutions. We believe in the power of private and public sector partnerships.
  6. Well-being. Supporting the groups who work to make U.K. communities better is the best way for us to impact the well-being of our own community.
